can we talk nurseries?
hopefully we're allowed to talk about this on this thread... I was unpacking yesterday & came across some signed NFL jersies I have. I always wanted to frame them & put them in a game room, but I thought I could instead use them to decorate a little boys room. I thought decorating a baby boys room with them would be great with an obvious sports theme. I thought why decorate it as a babies room & then have to change it when the baby got older. This theme, to me, would carry a boy even into his teens (if he liked sports of course), saving us money on decorating. Just a thought...do I have to do a "nursery"? Personally there are not many themes that I like, or can do (I'm not very creative). I have a tendency to change my own bedroom theme which is costly. Thoughts, honesty welcomed! TIA

Re: can we talk nurseries?
We're planning to do slightly different than the norm baby rooms. My DH is a real car guy and we have lots of model cars and vintage car stuff, so we want to somehow incorporate that for a boy. And for a girl, I love that whole shabby chic look and want to do a colored crystal chandelier. I decided on the chandelier when I saw J.Lo's nursery pics (but not quite that grand, lol).

JcPenney has this bedding Versailles Baby Bedding and Accessories, I think that would be pretty for the girls theme you're thinking of...

All of your ideas are so cute This is a touchy subjust with me lol, because I do have an extra bedroom in the house but it is a spare room and it is on another floor. So I keep telling DH that I don't have a nursery to decorate when we get a BFP!! But if I did - I know that for a boy, it would be a sports theme - mainly yankees and I am sure DH would prob try to pull that for a girl too!! But for a girl, I think I like the shappy chic too

Re: can we talk nurseries?
This is EXACTLY how DS's nursery is. DH played college baseball, and its actually how we met ... We got a huge shadow case for his uniform, and its up on the baby's wall. Along with pictures that were taken of DH pitching. I don't like "cutsie" stuff, so his bedding is from pottery barn kids, thats green, blue, and stripes. I LOVE his room, it looks like a boys room, not just a baby room.

Re: can we talk nurseries?
Why not? DH and I talked about doing a Mets-themed room if we have a boy. It's your house and your child - do what you like!
