Can we talk about this please...
So I went out for a girlfriends birthday last night. It was at the bar that is our "regular" bar when we go out. Anyway Saturday is a gay night. Like I said, this is our regular bar so it would only be normal to have her birthday here. They have a stripper pole. Fast forward. Birthday girl gets soooo drunk that this other girl and I are literally carrying her out. We go back in and the dj says to everyone that theres going to be a body painting party to sign up for $ prizes. You know when $ is involved, people will do almost anything. Well it went from a body paint contest, to a lesbian only body paint contest to lesbian only body paint who can dance on the stripper pole the best contest.
This is where we need to discuss. This contest then had all these girls literally naked with body paint on them. And the body paint wasn't covering much.
Mind you the bar was packed--full of people of all ages, but most of the girls doing this were about 21-22 years old. Probably younger to be honest. Anyway- these girls were naked. Boobies hanging out on a stage at a BAR (not even a strip club). I think I saw more here last night than I would at a strip club.
Of course everyone had their cameras so flashes were going off left and right. I know we got plenty of pictures lol but for the girls that were doing this--it make me wonder. A) do they just not care while they are doing it and wake up the next day saying "oh shoot i was dancing naked on the stage last night" and laugh about it B) Do they worry if these pictures get out-because you know everyones going to post them on myspace and facebook C) regret ever doing it D) do they have any self respect? E) do they think what would they do if parents ever saw these.
Last night was basically a one night version of spring break/girls gone wild summed up--without ever leaving your town.
If you could see the pictures I got--if they were of you--you would be mortified/embarassed/regret it all.
I'm an adventurous girl. I'll do almost anything-I like to take a walk on the wild side..but all within reason. But you would never find me shaking what my mama gave me-half naked-at a LOCAL bar.
How do you feel about this? Discuss please. I want to know others opinions on this.
do you feel like you would have more of a chance of doing this if you were out of the state/country and were probably never going to see these people again?

Re: Can we talk about this please...
i would never do soemthing like this, and frankly, i wouldn't have even stayed at the bar to witness this. basically, overall, i would say that i am against things like this, strip clubs, porn, etc.
I feel bad for some people that do this. some of them have no respect for themselves or think that they have to do something like that to get attention, etc. sure some people get off on it.
but toanswer your question, if that was me, i would be aboslutely mortified and i would pray that someone would have mercy and not post the pictures somewhere. i would be very embarassed and ashamed of myself.

Hmmm....I wonder if my cousin was there....lol.
She recently "came out" and is always talking about going to gay bars and getting wasted.
I probably wouldn't have stayed once all this was happening. People like that have no respect for themselves- drunk or not. Its one thing to be a stripper by occupation (totally not against that) its another to get smashed and be gross about it.

Re: Can we talk about this please...
Hmmm...it sounds like there are a lot of factors here. First, were there only women in the bar or was it a mix of women and men?
The reason I am asking is because sometimes women feel more free to be outrageous like that when in all female company (gay or otherwise). It could be that these girls let lose b/c they felt they were in a non-threatening setting.
I wouldn't chose to be part of the body paint extravaganza either way, but I think that how I would feel about the entire situation depends on knowing more about the context.

Would never do anything like that and I've worked in a strip club as a bartender and a waitress... I think it's a lack of self respect sometimes.. to get attention or what not.. makes me sad for people like that.. like they need a hug or something

yeah but there are people that just don't give a rat's a$$ about what other people think of them.
some people actually do enjoy it.
for the OP, it wouldn't bother me either way... I've met a lot of *free spirited* people in my life, where nudity is not a bother to them AT ALL...

Re: Can we talk about this please...
I was out recently and they had the hot body contest...Maybe because I haven't been out in a while to a club. But I was just a little disgusted. It must be like 10 years plus since I have been to a club....
The guys were yelling "Show your T _ _ _" and they were taking of their clothes... People were videoing it and snapping pics like they were the paparazzi...
At the end of the night, I left with my self respect... My clothes never left my body and if it wasn't for the hot body contest... I would have had even had a better time. And to be honest.... There weren't many hot bodies... It's amazing what clothes DO hide....

Re: Can we talk about this please...
Well, some women really do not have that filter or that guard up, and do feel comfprtable getting wild and crazy anyweher - I have been around those types...
But my guess is, they laugh about it - say, wow I was sooo drunk and crazy last night, and then just don't think baout it anymore. And as long as those pics don't show up somewhere, they will not think of it agan, and in myspace or facebook, they may think its funny....
But they don't think long term. Many young people don't... they do things today, and not think of tomorrow. Its when a whole heap of tomorrows start kicking them in the a s s that they wise up a little. Give them 10 yrs- they will go to a bar, come home, and say - what the hell is up with these girls???

Re: Can we talk about this please...
they dont care at that moment AND the next day
its so strange i try to let loose but no matter HOW drunk i get i have that little "ok how bad is this going to make me feel tomorrow" voice in my head. . .
i have done silly/stupid things while drunk but i have never gotten past that point - i just cant think ( or not think ) like that!

Re: Can we talk about this please...
i am not all that comfortable with nudity - painted or not. i probably would have left, unless i was drunk too.
as for the girls who got naked... i am willing to bet that most of them regret what they did, and maybe will think twice before having too much to drink next time.

Re: Can we talk about this please...
This is not my style and would have left the bar.
Most people who do that actually don't care.
Now that it's over I would talk to the manager though and talk to the police. This is NOT a stripclub and should not make anyone feel uncomfortable as acting like one.

Re: Can we talk about this please...
you probably had a mix of people up there.
people that will live to laugh in the morning
and people who live to regret in the morning.
I personally would not do it. And watching it, I'd have mixed emotions b/c while I'd feel like "more power to" those that live to laugh...those that I felt ONLY did it b/c they were drunk I'd feel badly for.
I wouldn't have taken a picture. I think THAT is even more effed up.
I also think it's a little presumptuous to assume that these girls don't respect themselves. We have all don't crazy stuff drunk in public. how many of us have peed in the park, went home with a guy we regretted in the morning etc...does any of this mean we lack self respect...or simply we let alcohol get the best of us?
This is the number 1 reason I almost NEVER get drunk in public. I wouldn't want to make a drunken misstep of this kind.
If you want to see my t*ts, you better at LEAST buy me dinner!

Wow. I'm really old. My first thought was "has to be a health code violation"
My second thought was "I wonder what bar."

I agree. They probably don't think long term & would see no repercussions. Also what would the repercussions be? People see them naked. When they're older & have a corporate job or run for office (which is unlikely), people will see them drunk & painted? They're obviously the type that like attention. No amount of alcohol would be enough to make me strip in a bar. I don't think the repercussions would bother them that much.
As a sister of a formerly drunken attention seeker, I can tell you that she was a little embarassed only after she sobered up & then didn't care much about what she did as long as it didn't hurt someone else. Eh...she didn't care if she hurt someone else either until she joined AA & got to whatever step that was & even then I'm not so sure it was completely sincere.
