Can we take benedryl?
If not what is acceptable to take for allergies/cold?

My perinatalogist OK'd for Benadryl for me when I had a really horrible cold. I hadn't slept for days and it was a Godsend!! My OB only allowed plain Claritin which didn't do a thing....
You should call your OB's office to ask what they recommend.

When I was sick my OB just wanted me to do Saline. I was miserable and he just told me to keep up with the saline, and he also allowed me to take regular robitussen for my cough.

I was just at my OB on Monday and she told me I looked and sounded horrible ~ I am not one to take meds during pregnancy (I try my best not even to take tylenol) she suggested I take Zyrtec ~ I have taken it the last two nights and had two good nights sleep. I would call your OB and double check first. Hope you feel better!

I'd check with your OB, but I was allowed to take Benedryl with both of my pregnancies...
