can too much milk cause hard poop? TMI
luce's never really been what I would consider constipated BUT there have been a few times since we've converted to whole milk that he will have these compacted HUGE balls of poop trying to come out  and he cries b/c it's...stretching...his bum to the limits and it hurts him so much.
the few times it's happened i've had to physically help pull it out or help him push it out. and it's always been tinged with a bit of blood.
he did have a milk sensitivity as an infant that I thought he outgrew.....I am just wondering if milk could have something to do with this.
he LOVES his milk and I feel like this happens when he drinks more than usual...but that could be pure coincidence too.
he has his 18 month appt coming up soon and I was going to talk to the ped about it....but does this warrant a faster visit?  his poor booty.

YES it can.
We struggle with this with Nick. He LOVES his milk and it's hard to take it away from him, so I try and make sure everything else is high-fiber so he can go normally. But sometimes he does struggle.

Same here. Kiera has had a few instances of super hard "ball like" poop that she actually cries pushing out!

Without a doubt, it can constipate. That was the first thing DD's ped said to keep an eye on when we were potty training, because too much milk will constipate them and then using the potty becomes tough for them.

yes, this is the other thing....he's less inclined to tell me he has to poop when he's having problems.
m-lo...YES this happens especially when he's eating less or having a picky day. ugh. this last happened saturday while we were at a restaurant. not fun performing poop surgery in a bathroom stall.

Yes definitely!! i'm going through this with DD for weeks now. SHe goes these really large, hard balls and she's in SO much pain trying to get them out
I've been making sure she's eating high fiber things, the ped even said to add Benefiber to her sippy. It helps for the most part and she goes softer but there are still occasions she's has a very hard time going

Yeah, Constantine is only pooping like a once a day, sometimes every few days and its small hard poops. He doesnt cry or seem to be too bothered by it. When I see him going I try to rub his belly a little bit but he pushes my hand away. I'll ask the ped about it tonight. I'll let you know!
