Can someone tell me to relax? (a little long)

So, I am on vacation in the Canadian Rockies. Basically, all there is to do here is to look at mountains, lakes and do some light hiking-- no big deal for a prego.

I asked my doc last week if I should avoid anything-- he just said "no biking on a bumpy road". No problem, I can't ride a bike anyway-- stop laughing. When I asked him to clarify-- he just said, well even in a car-- avoid bumpy roads/rides, etc.

ANYWAY-- today, we went to this glacier thing-- where you take a bus up and walk on the glacier. Cool, right? So, we asked the conceirge at the hotel TWICE, if the ride was bumpy. Not only for me, but for SIL who has a broken shoulder and can't do bumps either. THey said both times-- nope, you'll be fine.

So, of course-- we just got back to the hotel and the bus ride was totally bumpy. Not the whole way-- but there were a few very severe bumps. The bus ride was only a couple of mins-- so, it was not for an extended amount of time-- but it was round trip up and down the glacier.

While, I am really trying not to be a "nervous nelly", this is the ONE thing the doc told me to avoid. I am SO ****** at the concierge-- I am TOTALLY going to give them a piece of my mind later. I just feel it was very irresponsible to say we'll be fine, when they should have said-- if you are nervous, you should probably avoid it.

I am sure it's ok-- and I am thinking of calling my doc's office in the AM to quell my fears-- but, figured I would post here and get people's opinions.

What do you guys think? I am 14.5 weeks.

I wouldn't worry - the baby is well protected in there. Think of it this way - what do women who live in rocky/bumpy areas do?

Babies are more resilient than you think! They are VERY proctected in there and it wasn't like you rode a rollercoaster, ya know?

How do you feel? If you feel crampy at all I would call, otherwise just rest tonight and drink some water.

Re: Can someone tell me to relax? (a little long)

Thanks guys-- I am sure all is well, but I just wanted to check in.

I did feel slightly crampy-- but nothing significant and it was probably either psychosematic or to be honest, I have barely pooped since I have been here. I felt a little crampy yesterday too.

We are out all day and the altitude is very high-- so I am sure that doesn't help either.

I am just so angry with the concierge since I am now worried and my SIL was practically in tears on the ride, she was in so much pain. I am going to have a chat with them on my way down to dinner.

The baby should be fine, it is tucked in and protected.
I had a bad flight yesterday with a lot of turbulence...and the baby is still moving around like crazy today.

You are fine! The baby is so protected in there. I got punched in the stomach by a little kid's head at a wedding on the dance floor at 14 weeks. It was so hard I saw stars. I was worried for days. I think a few bumps and you will be ok. Chat Icon
