We need something light and easy for the beach for Aa, he is 7 months. Plus I want to use it for our bedroom on the hot nights because we don't have an AC in his room.

I picked up one of these at a garage sale for when we have DC #2...
Fisher Price Learning Patterns Play Dome
The whole thing folds up like a taco and the legs become carry handles.
Amazon shows it as unavailable. I remember seeing a post about how hard they were to come by so when I saw it in great condition, I snagged it. Do some google searches and check your local thrift stores/Once Upon A Child.
Oh and in searching for you, found there was a recall. I'll have to go up in the attic and see if I need to get the free repair kit!
Here's an Ebay listing that ended. Maybe it did not sell. Contact the seller.
Sorry, this seems as no help but maybe it's a start! And a bump!

Re: Can someone recommend a Pack and Play for the beach?
Can I suggest just using your stroller and an umbrella? When DS was 7 months old, I LIVED at the beach. I used to pull DS behind me to get him on and off the beach. I literally dragged the stroller behind me tilted a little. I loaded it up with my bags, towels, umbrella, toys, etc... It was soooo easy. When it was time for him to nap, I'd just put him in the stroller under the umbrella. Done.
Now that DS is 21 months, I still use the stroller but now just pack it with all his stuff and he walks. He just naps in it when it's time. It's so much easier than lugging around a heavy PNP.
