Can someone please explain to me...
how many days after your AF (i think that means period?..im new to the lingo lol) do you ovulate? I heard it depends on how many days are in your cycle....? Iam always 27-28 days cycle...but last month i was 35, so now im confused as to when i will O?

Re: Can someone please explain to me...
Say you have a 28 day cycle (AF being DC1), you will ideally O on CD14. But even with a 28 day cycle, some women might O on 13, 14 or 15. 26 day cycle- O on CD13, etc. That's why a lot of woman use OPKs.
Sometimes I have a 28 day, or a 27 or even a 29.
ETA: you can use fertilityfriend.com to caculate. It will take your average DC and calculate from there so it's not 100% accurate.

With a 28 day cycle, it is considered "normal" to O somewhere in the 14 day range, but many are earlier or later. I have a 29 day cycle and O somewhere around CD20. This gives me a short luteal phase (LP) when ideally you want your LP (the days from O till AF starts again) to be somewhere between 10-16 days. I used OPK's to determine when I O, before I started using them I just assumed it was right in the middle around CD14 and was pretty off.

Re: Can someone please explain to me...
You ovulate about 14 days before your next period, however many days that is after your last one. You can't really use your cycle length to predict when your next O will be. If you're stressed or traveling your O might be delayed. Or some women (me!) have different cycle lengths every month - sometimes 40 days, sometimes 60. So some women can predict O based on when they O'ed the past few months, but it's not all that accurate even if you are regular, and if you're not, there's no way to do it.
They only way to PREDICT ovulation is to use OPK's and monitor your CM. Then you temp every morning to see if you actually O'ed or not.
