Can I VENT! Sorry so Very Long**UPDATE**
So my DH comes home from work today with the surprise that my ILs are coming down this Saturday!
My Due Date is Monday and my next OB appt is wed and if I still have not delivered, then they are scheduling me to be induced by next week's end.
Here is the kicker.....my ILs flew in DH Aunt, from Croatia. But she goes back NEXT saturday (her spring break, she's a professor).....WE LIVE IN NC.
So they are driving down this Saturday, only to drive back to NY next Saturday. What if I don't deliver until the end of next week?
Then their trip down was wasted, and his parents will not be down for the birth.
Why would you do all this and not even discuss it with us????? It's not sensible at all!
I already planned a special Easter meal and bought it today...for 3. Now I am cooking for 6, and will have a SMALL 1BR apartment full of 6 people!
THIS IS NOT RELAXING, IT'S STRESSING!
Thank god my mom is down visiting to help me and keep me sane from my ILs!!!!
Plus Monday is my Mom's B-day I want to celebrate with her and wed is our 1st date anniversary.
THIS IS SO NOT HOW I WANT TO SPEND MY LAST DAYS UNTIL DELIVERY!!!!
Thanks for letting me vent! I probably sound harsh, but I don't want to be stared at and constantly asked when I am delivering.
And I am not up to be a hostess!

I have no one else to vent to right now. My DH knows it's insane, but what can he do.
It's his family, so theydon't phase him,,,,,Plus, he's not the one who's pregnant, he's not hormonal, and he'll be at work all week!

Oh I am sooo sorry for you. Being a little bit in the same situation - today is my due date and everyone is panicked about what to do for easter since my house is usually holiday central and everyone else is too far away from the hospital to host it (or just refuse to) - so we were thinking that we would host 9 people here and cater it. DH told me I was crazy and that we should go out instead. so i told my parents today that is what I want to do.
My Suggestion for your situation: Reservations! Call a restaurant and see if they will take your group - or you can cater it in. Let the parents pay....
It is completely ridiculous that they planned this trip without talking to you first. I hope you go into labor soon and you don't need to worry about this.

no, no, no....luckily EVERYONE is staying in a hotel (we are only in a 1BR apartment) and my mom is in a suite within our apartment complex.
I already bought a leg of lamb and all the stuff for Easter. If I don't cook it, we'll have to have it another time?
My mom already said, we'll just get another leg, so we have enough and more veggies.
She's better than me, I think she saw in my face how obserd it is!
I told DH he needs to talk to them and tell them in the future they need to discuss plans for vacationing down, because we will be busy with  and working and such.
Sad part is they tried to "surprise" us on NYE and luckily my FIL told us prior, cause he did not think it was right to surprise us. WHAT HAPPEND TO THAT THOUGHT PROCESS????

First you can only do so much, and everything else be damned. Just let it go. Your in-laws are old enough to know that the baby comes when the baby comes. If they aren't there, they'll figure it out. The Aunt proly butted in on their own plans. Do what you can then task the heck outta DH and if need be talk directly to your MIL about your limitations as a host.

Aw, good luck with everything. IL's can be ridiculously rude sometimes! The only thing I can say is that maybe the stress they are causing you to have will bring on labor!

Yes, I feel better this morning.....even though I did not sleep much...Too much on my mind now.
Luckily my DH is a big help, BUT He is sooooooooo going to owe me for this one!

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that you are stuck dealing with this. Thanks goodness for your mom though! And shame on MIL b/c she was clearly PG at least once in her life and should know better. You are way bigger of a person than me b/c I don't think I would have been as gracious.

Well last night the ILs called and said.......We are NOT comining tomorrow!
If does not come on her own, I'll be induced by the end of the week, so they FINALLY REALIZED  it's just not worth risking a drive down to NC and having to return back to NY to get the aunt back on the plane.
Of course this after I bought more food for Easter dinner.

Great news!!!! What a relief for you! Hopefully you can cook and freeze some of the excess food that you bought? With a newborn in the house, the last thing you will be thinking about is cooking dinner. It may be helpful down the line!
