Can I ask for prayers?
I have been having shortness of breath and heart palpitations and it keeps getting worse. Sometimes it starts up when I am not even doing anything. Other times it starts when I walk or take stairs. It lasts so long and I feel like I am suffocating. I feel very faint when it happens. Sometimes I see spots. I try so hard not to panic.
Soooooo, I spent yesterday afternoon at the ER. I am anemic, and we knew that weeks ago. However, even after taking iron pills for a few weeks, my levels are exactly the same. The doctor is not overly concerned about the level of anemia I have as long as I keep taking the pills. My symptoms could be from that, though.
The ER found nothing other than the anemia. I had an EKG and was placed on a monitor for a while. If anything, my BP is a little low (could cause this).
They told me to follow up with a cardiologist and to have an echocardiogram. I already know that I have a very slight valve regurgitation (which many people have and have no symptoms). They want to make sure that it has not turned into anything major.
The cardiologist that I saw many years ago squeezed me in for tomorrow for both the test and to see him. I almost hope he can find something that is easy to treat. Even after knowing that the ER found nothing major, I had one of my worst, scariest episodes today. I considered calling an ambulance. I then found a comfortable position and as long as I stayed like that for a while I was okay.
They checked the baby while I was in the ER. He is fine!
I know my medical issues are most important, but having been out of work yesterday afternoon, in today and being out tomorrow afternoon, I feel very stressed about everything that is on my desk. I was finally developing a good working system with my new assistant and now I feel like I messed up the work flow!

I had heart palpitations throughout my PG, and also had to see my cardiologist early in my 2nd tri. It was from the MVP I have had for a few years (or rather known about for a few years). It went away after a few weeks, and did not return until the very end of my PG.

Thanks!! I helps to know that it was just the valve thing that you already knew about, b/c I have a similar issue. I am glad to hear that it did not last the entire time.

Forget work~! Take it easy! Focus on resting and relaxing because your health and the baby are paramount. You can work the rest of your life, you only have one opportunity to take care of yourself and the bean. that everything is a-ok!

Kerie take it easy, your health needs to be your top concern (for you & baby)....I hope everything works out at the dr tomorrow......
You'll be able to organize everything when you get back to work, don't stress.....

Hang in there! You have all of my thoughts & prayers with you.
As for work, consider this the beginning of work piling up (only to get done minutes before a deadline) because you have a baby.
