Camera Traffic Lights in Suffolk..help.
Does anyone know if there is one at the corner of the LIE and the North Svc. Road?
For example, if I am heading South on Hawkins Ave and heading towards the LIE to jump on and go West, is there a camera traffic light at that right turn to go onto the LIE?
There have been a few times when as I went to turn right to get on, I saw a flash. I assumed it was a faulty traffic light, you know how some flash sometimes.
Now I am afraid I must have a bunch of tickets.. I never just blew through the red light to turn, but I can honestly say I probably didn't just make a complete and full stop, especially if no one was around. I may have "paused" and edged up, but no complete stop like I would do at a stop sign.
Anyone know for sure?

I'm no help honestly, but I think the flash is to see it more easily. I know on Ocean Ave (83) they have the flashes in the lights as well on each side of that huge hill...just so you can see it from a distance more clearly.
ETA: I dno't think ANYONE makes a complete stop at those things... LOL. I know I dont HAHA

Yes there is one at hawkins on both the north and south service road intersections. They are also at exit 59 (ocean) and at the motor pkwy intersection, so b careful! My friend just got a tix in the mail w/ a pic of her license platr for not coming to a complete stop before making a right on red :(

Old Nichols road has at least one intersection, and Vets Hwy and Motor Pkwy has them as well. Those are obvious, because I watched them install the separate poles and cameras at the corners over several days.

They need one at the corner of 83 and horseblock. I hate that intersection. Everyone feels that the red light does not apply to them

I can't remember which intersection (Hawkins and LIE or Ronk Ave and LIE) but there is a camera at one of them. Dh and I saw it go off twice a few weeks ago.

My husband said he saw them installing also, and that if anyone that works at his company gets a ticket from there they are dense since there is no way you could leave their office without seeing them install it there.

The westbound Sunrise service road and southbound Route 112 in Patchogue have them now. Makes sense.
Now they need a few at William Floyd and Montauk in Shirley. They'd never have to raise taxes ever again with the amount of people who blow those lights.

I remember reading they installed one on the service road and Ocean Ave in Ronk (exit 59) not sure if they installed more.

Corner of Motor Parkway and Vets Highway in Islandia. Also further down Vets by Walmart, same area.
I saw five flashes in the first week. Now I see at least one to two per week, and that's only the minute or so that I'm stopped at that light. I can't imagine how many tickets they must be sending out.
They must be making a lot of money.

I'm pretty sure they do. a friend on mine got one there. when they mail you the ticket they also give you alink to view and save your VIDEO of you doing it. my friend posted it on her FB page. but it takes 4-6 weeks to get

I saw that happen too, when there were NO cars going through the intersection at all. Everyone stopped. I thought about that and wondered if you can see the color of the stoplight in the picture they send you. Hopefully there's a video like someone else said, with full view of the stoplight too!

You made a right onto Motor Parkway or on to Vets? I'm assuming you mean Motor, since there's no turn on red for Vets. That's good to know.
