Call Waiting on my TV?
I live in an upstairs apartment of someone's home.
I'm noticing today that I'm getting Caller ID messages on the TV!!!
I've never seen this before?
I'm sure it has something to do with cablevision and my landlords possibly having cable phone service...
Can someone explain it? It's kinda weird seeing who is calling my landlords all day long!

i have it thru my cable company.
If it bothers you, you can ask them to turn that feature off.

Cable has been testing out caller id on TV in certain areas. You have to have the optimum phone to see the caller id come through.

They added it this weekend. My sister said it is a new thing. I love it!! I don't have to jump up to see who it is.

I just noticed that today too. I called DH and work and he thought I was nutso. I thought it maybe was because of the recent outage in our area.. bellmore.. But maybe it is a new feature. I noticed it when someone called me but when my husband called me from work (it normally shows up as "out of area" on the caller id) it didn't show up. But when I called from my cell it did... Weird!!! It did say you could tune to some channel to change the options. Maybe you can disable it?

I think if you turn the TV to channel 630 you can disable it!

We have this also with Directv... I actually don't mind it bc then I know if I should even make the effort to get the phone sometimes.

I get this on my Cabelvision. It is a new service that just started. DH and I are very excited because now we don't have to get up from the couch if someone is calling that we don't want to talk to  Hahha, we are so lazy

I have Directv as well. I haven't noticed anything though. I think I would actually like something like that.

Like others said go to ch 630 to turn it off. You are getting your landlords calls because the cablebox you use is his right? So that box is on his account and he must have Optimum Voice. Now Im calling the cable police on you. LOL

We've had it on DishNetwork for years. We get a bit confused when we're watching a DVD, and the phone rings.... "Where's the Caller ID???? Oh, yeah, it's playing a DVD.... "

It shows up near the top of the screen, but I heard they are testing it only in some areas. We have it, but my mom does not.
