Calculating potential due dates???

Silly question, but say you wanted to know when you would need to get pregnant to have a mid February baby, or June baby or October, (you get the idea)... is there some kind of website to check that? Instead of the one where you put your AF or O date and then it tells you the likely due date (so, the opposite)???

Of course there are no guarantees, but I thought it would be fun to see.

Ok so STUPID question coming your way... if it says that in order to have a due date of XYZ, you need to conceive on January 1, 2010 for example, then 1/1/10 would be the date of ovulation, right? So if you ovulate around 14 days after the start of your period, then your last period would be mid December in this example, you'd ovulate on 1/1/10 and have to get pregnant around that date.

Yes??? Or am I misunderstanding how it all works? lol

Re: Calculating potential due dates???

Oh lordy, and ANOTHER stupid question.

So say you want to try to get pg in March, but you're currently on BC.

Your dr. has told you to stop taking BC, wait til you get your first period, and then start trying.

So when would you stop taking BC??? February? Or January?? I know you could get your first period 4-6 weeks after you stop taking BC, right? (of course, not guaranteed and it could take much longer).

I'm just making up the months, but just trying to get an idea.

ETF typos.

You're overthinking...

Don't come off BCP before you'd actually want to conceive. Some people get pregnant right away (even before their first AF)...

Others take a long time to get AF and become regular (or even to begin ovulating again).

It's one of those things that you can't really get down to an exact science... KWIM?

You just can't predict how your body will react to being off birth control or how long it will take you to get pregnant.

Some people say "I want a summer baby" - and come off BCP and 2 weeks later are pregnant with their summer baby. Others (like me) say "I'd love a summer baby too!" and have never been on BCP, but have summers come and go without being pregnant. You just really never know!

My advice is just to come off BCP when you are ready to have a baby... and be aware that it may take no time at all, a very long time, or somewhere in between Chat Icon

Good advice. I think alot of people are planners by nature. I know I am...and this is one thing that you really have no say over sometimes...it's kind of scary to think that you can't just decide when you want a baby...but if you go in knowing that info, hopefully it is a little easier!

Thanks Hayley! After lurking on TTC for all this time, I have come to realize that what you've said is SOOOOO true and am open to the knowledge that I can't predict when it will happen. In fact, I am pretty scared it will take a long time, but no use in worrying too much until the time comes. Just trying to have a better understanding of how it all works, you know?

The question above was more me trying to figure out timeline of when the earliest potential due date would be if by some miracle we got pg on the first try, but I 100% know that it's not exact or anything.

I'm sure I'll have more stupid questions, lol! As much as I feel that I've learned, there's SO much more I don't know or haven't fully grasped so thank you and thanks everyone! Chat Icon

Oh please feel free to ask anything you want... no matter how silly or TMI or embarassing you might think it is. We've all been there and asked the same things! Chat Icon

I think this is part of it for me too - it's not so much that I want to plan exact conception date and delivery date and all that (not possible even if I DID want to, lol), but more to have a plan of, if we start trying by "this" date, then we should know that we could potentially have a baby by "this" date or sometime thereafter... makes sense?
