Caffeine while TTC?
A friend of mine just asked (my BFF in the whole world, the only person besides DH, my mom and SIL that know we're ttc) if I cut out caffeine while trying to conceive. I said no.
Are there everyday things that you are supposed to cut out while TTC? Have you cut out anything on your own?

I've heard some people say that you should only have caffeine in moderation, but I'm not sure about the medical reasoning why. I, personally, would NEVER, EVER give up or cut back on my caffeine before I have a BFP in hand

I cut out all caffeine and alcohol while TTC as well as over teh counter medications. This is a topic of debate with a lot of people.
New studies are showing that caffeine increases your chance of miscarriages.
I would see what your practitioner recommends, do a little research and do what you are comfortable with!

Not sure if it negatively impacts conception, but I drank a cup of coffee everyday when I was pregnant & the OB said that was totally fine.

I cut back on my caffeine intake, but I didnt cut it out all-together. I cut soda out of my diet and I try to only have 1 cup of coffee per day.
During pregnancy, most doctors will tell you that one cup of coffee per day is safe. So, while TTC, I try to follow that standard.

I drank caffeine same as I always did when TTC my son...I cut back a lot when pg, but still had a soda/day. Perfectly fine.
High caffeine consumption has been recently linked to an increased rate of miscarriage.....but in the 2WW I would have whatever you normally have!!! No need to stop your lifestyle completley until you get that BFP!

I asked my midwife this question and she told me not to worry about anything until I get PG!
So I still have my AM coffee.....thank goodness!

I am going to keep drinking my diet coke now while TTC but as soon as I get pregnant, I am cutting out all caffiene.
I can't help but think those diet cokes I had when I was pregnant before didn't help the cause....

Lizzy your MC was because of a subchorionic hemmorhage, that would not have been caused by the caffeine. I believe the impact of caffeine in causing MC is directly related to the development of the embryo...please don't think you did anythign wrong to have caused your MC.
Subchorionic hemmorhages are common, usually they go away. Sometimes, they don't and in your case.

TTC can be stressful enough, I haven't cut anything our yet. I didn't when I was TTC DD either. As soon as I get a BFN, I'll cut coffee, etc out. Heck, I'll be on cloud nine and won't need coffee to get me going then!

Whew, I feel much better. I just have a cup of coffee in the morning. I am not a big soda person, but sometime I have a diet coke with lunch or unsweetened iced tea.

I've cut back on caffeine to one cup of coffee a day. I don't drink soda so that's no problem. Also, if I have iced tea I make sure it's decaf.
I'm not really "addicted" to caffeine, so for me it was no big deal. If I chose to have coffee throughout the day I chose decaf. I drink coffee for the taste...not the caffiene.

answering as I drink my morning coffee.... I've tried to limit it to 1 cup a day in the morning (sometimes two on the weekends), I was a huge coffee drinker so this is a big step for me. I won't stop entirely untill I get a BFP though, at which time I plan to.

Ditto and with DS I did have 1 cup of coffee in the AM, but that was it and it was the 1/2 the caffeine kind....my DR said it was fine, but this time I may cut it out all together.

I drink alot of tea and diet soda usually.
I have been trying to cut back a little bit and I have. I still need the tea in the morning. I'll cut it all out when I get the BFP though.

I have cut back slightly, not really for TTC purposes but becasue I would go to Starbucks 40 times a day if I could and that much caffeine is not good for anyone. I figure it can't hurt to cut back a little.
