Cablevision Phone - Pros & Cons
We're thinking of getting Cablevision Phone and were wondering if anyone can please give us some pros and cons.

PROS - cheap

cons - when the cable goes out, you have no phone either.

we moved fr Cablevision to DirecTV
Much better selection. Kept CB for internet only.

but its rare that the cable is gonna go out, especially for an extended period of time!

We used to have the Cablevision triple play and for some inexplicable reason the modem would randomly stop powering the phone line (or whatever verb I should use). The phone would ring busy to incoming calls and would have no dial tone for outgoing. They came a bazillion times to fix it and nada. It was really bad when my then 5th grader was getting home from school before me and couldn't call me to tell me he was home safely.
so we switched to Fios.

PROS - If your power does go out with cable, all your incoming calls are re-routed to another number you choose, cell phone etc.
