Re: Cable vision multiple room DVR.
We always had the regular one and it was fine. Now we have multiroom and A) it doesn't hold nearly half what the regular one did. And B) it doesn't tape my shows although I set record a whole series and make sure it's set to record new only. And C) it tapes random crap I know I never recorded because I never even heard of it.
Anyone have these issues or is my machine just messed up? I mostly set it from one room.

I've heard that this is an issue with CV multiroom DVR's. I refuse to switch b/c of it even though I really want a multiroom DVR! I've heard it's because CV wanted to release them ASAP to compete with other cable providers so they released them early with bugs.

Ugh. We only got it since it was cheaper the way their packages were. It sucks. It almost didn't tape x factor (I caught it) and it didn't tape parenthood last night yet it will tape crap like honey boo boo and call of the wildman that I do NOT want on my DVR lol.

Re: Cable vision multiple room DVR.
We actually like it. I can tape up to 5 shows at a time and it eliminates the problem of having more than 2 shows that you want to try to watch. Also, if there is something we record for the kids and don't want to see.. we can set them up in the playroom or the office to watch while we watch an adult themed show in the living room.
WE DID have some issues initially, but we called and they came out (twice) and finally gave us a brand new box and we haven't had issues yet.
As to pricing. Call and ***** to them. Tell them that it doesn't suit your needs, but you expect to have your old system back at the same price as what they gave you. That's what I did and they agreed IF the new box didn't work. But it does.

It does tape a lot on hd. I have to figure out how to change that! I don't need to watch my shows on hd. I'll have to call them and tell them its not working right and see what they say. Thanks!

we got it too because we moved and were saving 50$ a month. It doesnt tape things that I have set for series, and I was mad it didnt tape Parenthood as well. I hate that it doesnt show that something is recording when the box is off

They don't give out the standard DVR boxes anymore so when we got a TV for my daughter's room, we had to get DVR Plus (the multi-room option). We now have DVR Plus for all our non-standard DVR boxes but I can't stand it. Two of our boxes are not HD boxes, so anything taped on Disney Jr can only be viewed in her room (not in the kitchen or the guest room). It does not hold nearly as much as the standard DVR boxes. I also almost exclusively used the iPad app to schedule my recordings before but I seem to have issues when trying to schedule for DVR Plus. I think I'm paying just $5 more for DVR Plus service (but I am an employee of a Cablevision company so who knows). I'd prefer to be paying how ever much it used to cost extra for the standard DVR box.

FWIW, my standard DVR box will randomly not record certain shows. Like I have it set to record General Hospital everyday. Sometimes it just skips a day! There are no other scheduling conflicts at 3pm (now 2pm) and I only have a few things recorded. I don't want to get it fixed so I'm not stuck with DVR Plus.
