anyone else have this happen to their DVR cable box
Last week I made DH exchange our cable box because the DVD was not recording properly. For example I would set the DVR to record Sesame street at 7am. At 7:15, DS' morning routine, I'd attempt to play the show from the beginning...but there would be no show, it would show it was recording, but it wouldnt be there. Fine...he returns it...get the new one home and something else is wrong with that one....so he goes back again.....and get a third box. I just to start Sesame Street again and I cannot....W T H? I can play it from current location and rewind to the beginning (which means the temporary is working but it is not saving. Anyone else have this happen. I think it is so bizzare that this has happened to us twice now....do we have to return this friggin box AGAIN????????????

I have had major problems with my DVR box.. It will say its recording things that i didnt program, but not really record just could record another program.. I think in the past year i have been through 7 boxes..

From my experience - "new" boxes aren't always "new" they are often refurbished boxes that aren't fixed correctly. If you make enough of a stink they should give you an actual new box, but they could also be lying.
And one more tip - keep an eye on your bill, when DH and I were trading in boxes because the "new" ones were still just as bad as the ones we were trading in - I was charged for 6 boxes one month !! (only have 2) and they were charging me for 2 DVR boxes (only have one !!)

I had this problem w/my box. I would also have things set to record and it wouldn't record them at all. After a little while of the problem I started having issues w/not being able to watch certain local stations yet I could get them on my kitchen TV w/out a box. Cable co. tried resetting it remotely and it still didn't work so they sent someone out to figure out what the issue was. Ended up being that we had a weak signal because my house it set so far back from the road. I still don't understand why this was the issue... its coming from cable that is run to my house, its not like its wireless and Im far from a transmitter. Are you far from the street?

I've never had this happen to me but I'd ask them to send a technician out, maybe its something with the lines?

One week, I had to drive from Queens to Suffolk 3 times to return my grandfather's box because...oh wait, they didn't work!
