C-Section question
Does anyone know how many hours you have to be "food free" before undergoing a c-section? I'm talking about one that isn't a scheduled c-section? TIA

Hmmm I'm not sure...with my unscheduled csection it worked out that I was about 20 hours with no food..

My c-section is scheduled for 9:30AM and I was told no food or drink after midnight.

I think if it is unscheduled, and an emergency c-section they do it no matter what... if you puke while on the table, you puke...

My c section was not scheduled but I had a granola bar at 8am and a c section at 4 pm

C-Section question
For unscheduled emergency they just do it no matter what. If you throw up, you just throw up. If it's like mine, unscheduled but not an emergency, they said 8 hours. Thank God there was an emergency C-section before mine because i bought some time.

6 hours. My OB decided to do a c/s when I started to show signs of pre-e. He said he wanted to do it around 6 pm, that the food I ate at 11 am should be fine.

C-Section question
i had an emergency c-section and they gave me some charcoal thing i had to drink since we didn't know exactly the last time i had eaten before the surgery. i was under general anesthesia and had to be intubated so im not sure if its the same if you are awake.
