C-section hospital bag?
Just got the shock of my life at 37+ week appt this morning - Baby B is breech and my cervix is already soft, so a c-section is looking inevitable.
Do I need to pack anything different for a c-section versus vaginal birth? I know the stay is longer, but that's about all I know about a c-section (had induction & vaginal delivery with DD).
Thanks!!!!!!!!

Re: C-section hospital bag?
I packed a nightgown (as horrible as that sounds) and thank god I did because they come in to check you SO much. The first day I was in the hospital gown. The second day I changed into my nightgown. They were checking me all the time. The 3rd and 4th day I was in capri's and tank tops.
Also, make sure you have a big bottle of Motrin at home. Get large pads because you will be bleeding alot for a few weeks.
Bring a Boppy pillow if you got one. It's hard to hold the baby after the surgery so it helped to rest the baby on the Boppy.
I will add more as I think of it.

Thanks guys!! I am still in complete and utter shock I can't think straight!
I packed nightgowns, and I have the boppy from DD, so I'll bring that.

Are they thinking the baby will turn? I've heard of that happening late into the pregnancy.

Unfortunately my cervix is super soft already so they don't think he will have time to turn. I'm going every 48 hours for rechecks but at the first sign that I am dilated, they are going for the section. I guess because it's my second, they don't want you going into full active labor with a breech? If my cervix stays closed, they are giving him until July 8th to turn, but my OB didn't think I would make it that long. I have a recheck on Thursday and he already said to pack my hosp bag and not to eat breakfast because he's pretty sure we'll be headed to Good Sam right after that appt!

Re: C-section hospital bag?
Granny panties!!! Regular undies will hurt the incision.
I also had a nightgown. Boppy also helped tremendously.
C-sections are really not so bad, don't worry too much. Good luck!

Re: C-section hospital bag?
granny panties.
I wore pjs and was fine in them 12 hours after surgery.
Good luck, it's really not that bad. I was so scared and it really wasn't bad at all!

Re: C-section hospital bag?
I haven't had one yet, but with the twins there is a good chance. Some ladies on here were saying that they use cuffs to increase the circulation in your legs and that your legs sweat and itch a lot. So, I packed high socks to go under those and hopefully help with that.

Re: C-section hospital bag?
it should pretty much be the same.
I didnt go in planning on having a c/d but I did, but I did have somethings that made my life a bit easier so I didnt have to get up and down as much. For example I had makeup removing pad/sheets so I didnt have to get up and lean over the sink to wash my face.
you will also nt to bring some underwear and sweats or yoga pants that are a bit bigger and can be put higher up, you are not going to want them at your waist where you were cut.
ETA: I had a great experience with my c/s I took motrin about 4 times to help with some pain and I was up and walking around the next morning
