C-Section BTDT Help
Hello ladies!
I had my little girl on 2/8/13 after an emergency c section. It was one of the scariest thing ever but she is perfect in every way.
Somewhat TMI....
When i was discharged from the hospital, my stitches were fine, no bleeding, oozing etc... On Thursday, 6 days since the csection, it looked like one stitch popped and it started to bleed. Looked like a lot to me since i was soaking through a gauze about every hour or so. Called the Dr and he had me come in to the hospital since he was on call to check it out. He looked it over and told me that it might be a hematoma (a pocket of blood) behind the wound that had bilt up and just had to drain. He said it was nothing to worry about. Try to keep it dry and that I should come in to the office the next day. I had an appt the next day to have my stitches removed anyway so I went and had them removed and this one little spot was still bleeding. I questioned the other Dr there and she said that it might be that I had pulled a stitch loose and that while it might look like a lot of blood, it really wasn't. It was just that I wasn't sed to bleeding from there and it looked like more blood than it really was. She let me know that if it continued to bleed I could come in for a follow up on Monday and if not, I have another check up appintment on Friday.
Has anyone else has their csection stitches bleed and had everything be ok? I'm really worried about infection and its already a painful recovery to begin with so I wouldn't want to make it worse or delay recovering from something that sounds stupid but isn't. At this point, its been bleeding since about 5pm Thursday.
Any advice or comments from personal experience? Thanks!!!

Re: C-Section BTDT Help
I had the same thing happen to me last time but I think it happen a couple weeks after. My midwife would put this black tar looking stuff in the opening a few times or so over a few weeks until it closed. It wasnt fun Sorry you are going through this.

C-Section BTDT Help
I had a C/S almost 4yrs ago. I had a little bit of oozing etc and so I had to have visiting nurses visit me to help with 'wound care'...it ended up taking almost 6 months. Twice during that time I had to visit a plastic surgeon, they said if it didn't close up soon I'd have to have my incision reopened and restitched up. I'm hoping what happened to me won't happen to you because it was a PITA. It wasn't painful or anything, just a PITA. Just make sure you go to your follow up and see what they say...GL!

Re: C-Section BTDT Help
I had staples but also had one spot that never closed for weeks. I had to keep it as dry as I could and always tried to have something over it. Eventually it healed on its own.
