Re: C-Section 20 days

I had a c-section with #1 and it was a piece of cake...you will be fine. The best advice I can give is to get up and walk around as soon as possible, that will help your recovery greatly...it will hurt like a b!tch, but it is the best thing you can do Chat Icon Chat Icon

It will be ok. From my experience, a scheduled c/s is so much easier than a non-scheduled. Talk to the anesthesiologist about AFTER the section is done. I would ask to get anti-nausea meds asap as a precaution.

you won't feel anything during the surgery but you will definitely feel pain as your recover...take the pain meds every 4 horus like instructed and you will be fine

I would watch the clock and ask the nurse for my drugs as soon as 4 hours had passed Chat Icon

You won't feel anything during the surgery. The recovery is tough, but as long as you take your painkillers it won't be that bad! Chat Icon

Re: C-Section 20 days

I have a sched c-section 14 days from now. I've had several weeks to warm up to the idea though.

I'm just hoping I heal well and that I'm not in too much pain. Chat Icon

I had a BAD recovery with DD, and spent the extra day in the hospital that you have the option of. BUT, once I got home, I didnt need to take any pain meds.

With DS, I left after only the 3 days, and stopped taking the pain meds before even leaving the hospital.

My concern is doing too much once I get home. I can be stubborn at times and not ask for help doing things. Or I get annoyed because they aren't done my way. Perhaps my biggest concern shouldn't be how well I heal, but how ok I am with sitting back and letting other people clean and do laundry (weird how that would be so difficult for me!). Chat Icon

Re: C-Section 20 days

I just had a section last friday and the sugery was nothing! The spinal to me hurt the most. I didn't feel a thing. Lots of pressure and pulling but NO PAIN. It was so weird cause you can still feel them touching you with there hands but there wasn't ANY pain what so ever! So weird. After they took DD out I felt a little sick and they gave me something right away to make me feel better and within mins I felt fine again. I was so tired laying there after they took her out I feel asleep lol IMO my recovery is sucking big time but I don't handle pain well at all and I'm nursing and I keep forgetting to take my meds so that causing tons of pain to. Its going to be a week tomorrow and I do feel better not a lot but getting there. FM me with any questions you have I was deathly afraid of a c-section and still can't believe I made it out ok lol make sure you keep up with your meds and don't let to much time pass by like I do cause then you feel like your dieing!!! Best of luck!!!

Lauren, Its sooo true! You dont feel anything during the surgery. Oddly enough it was actually like a relief. I also think it's bc I was in labor for 2 days prior to the section. Once the gave me the spinal I felt great. You feeling NO PAIN.

The worst is the day after and then the net 2 mornings.
The morning after the section they took out my foley and got me up to the chair and that to be honest hurts bc it is the first time you get out of bed. Then I was walking by that afternoon...slowly but up and walking.

Pain lightens during the day but I ofund the next few mornings to be bad..but each day you feel releif sooner.

By the time you get home you willl feel such a difference and then each day gets better.
