BTDT who warmed up DC bottle ... is there any hope that DC will actually drink a bottle cold

First i should ask, it is ok for her to drink cold bottles right?

i ask cause when DD was born she was in NICU for a week The nurses warmed up all of her bottles there and told DH that DD should not drink bottles that are cold since it can casue gas. ( i am now wondering how true this is Chat Icon )

So since then she has had warmed bottles.

She will sometimes take room temperature bottles but the problem is I dont make her bottles when she needs them. I make them by the pitcher and since she is in daycare they have to be premade anyway So is there anyway to start getting her to drink cold bottles? any tricks?

I really dont want to have worry about having to warm up her milk when she switches over! and i would love to be able to be out with a premade bottle and not have to worry about finding somewhere to heat it up!

Dd drank cold bottles and no problems. I think when they are really small it's a lot harder on them. I did warm them up was she was a nb and then slowly just started giving her bottles at room temp, just mixed, or straight out of the fridge.

I would just slowly start making the water colder and colder and not warm as long until she gets used to it.

I used to warm the bottles for formula.
Once we transitioned to milk- around 11.5 months- she took it cold.
No issues at all!

DD is BF, but I give her pumped bottles some times. When I'm home, I warm them with my Dr. Brown's warmer, but when we're out some place, I can never get it as warm and she takes it no problem. I run the bottle under a warm tap for a few minutes. The milk is still pretty cold though and she doesn't seem to mind—it probably cools her down time of year when it's hot out.

this was what i was thinking of doing. Slowly making it not so hot when we heat it up.

Nicholas was a NICU baby too & while in the NICU, the nurses would warm my BM if it was a fridge bottle. When we got home, he got everything at room temperature.

Now that he is fully transitioned to milk, he flat out refuses to drink it cold. So we are back to warming it under hot water.

DS was in the NICU for a month. We warmed his bottles to room temp (breast milk and formula as needed) until he was like... 3 months old? 4 months maybe?

Then we just started giving it to him cold.

He took it NO PROBLEM and it made my life infinitely easier when I was out.

Oh, the baby's crying? Here's your milk straight from the cooler, no wait!

No having to get hot water to heat it, no worrying HOW to heat it, etc.

My DCs always got warm bottles...still do when we're home and I have time. But, if we're out, they are both ok with bottles right out of the cooler bag.
