Btdt moms- teething in almost 5 month old

Omg!!! Dd will be 5 months this week. At her last check up ped said he felt the start of teething. Now dd is MISERABLE. She is literally crying and whimpering in pain and keeps waking up! She doesn't seem to like the teethers. I just gave her Tylenol because she really seemed so miserable. But I don't want to give her Tylenol every day- do I? Any suggestions would be helpful!

Teething is worse at night so I would try to give it as needed at night. My DS usually only had a bad night or two with the teeth.

I used the fresh food feeders and put ice cubes in them for DD to suck on. Now that she is on solid foods, I put pieces of frozen fruit in them and she loves it... google fresh food feeder and the pics will come up. They have them at BRU in the feeding section. At night, I used oragel naturals and then Tylenol if it was really bad.

I give my DD Tylenol on the nights when she is really miserable. Other than that, I give her baby orajel and those teethers that you keep in the freezer.

I would try Motrin - it helps with the swelling as well and makes DS more comfy. I just give it to him at night as well.

Tylenol didn't really help him at all with teething.

I wish I could give Motrin but she's not old enough yet. I'm gonna try the natural orajel and the washcloth

I would definitely do tylenol before bed if she's not sleeping well. I hate giving DD meds frequently, especially if I'm not 100% sure she's in pain. At the same time, if it were me in pain I would probably take them meds to make myself feel better so when I think that way I feel better about giving them to her. Other than Tylenol (and motrin when she's older) I gave cold teethers before feedings and tried teething tablets. Can you feel the teeth yet or see any white under her gums? Hopefully they'll pop through soon!

i can feel the teeth but can't see the white buds yet. maybe i'll try sophie, thats about the only teether she doesn't have LOL

I used to give DS Ice cubes (from the ice maker) wraped in cloth.

ETA: *The crescent shaped ice.
