BTDT moms - my 5 month old and crying
I dont know whats going on with her lately. Shes usually so happy and smiles at everyone but the past few days shes been freaking out and becomes hysterical anytime someone other then me talks to her or holds her.
Wednesday night it was my FIL. He wanted to hold her and she freaked! Like she was so scared so of course I took her back right away and had to calm her down but every time we went back over to him she would start crying again. Then yesterday my Brother and SIL started talking to her and again she started to hysterically crying? What could this be. Im a FTWM so she goes to the sitter everyday so its not like shes only with me all the time and she knows these people. It makes me so sad to think this might be going on while im at work and I cant console her. I hope its just a phase and it will get better

This is completely normal! If you get the Babycenter weekly update emails it actually says at month 5 stranger anxiety/new face fear may set in.
My DD had this reaction a few times. Once at a party with a few new faces and once when her baby nurse came to visit after a few weeks away. It actually happened yesterday with her doctor too.

Thanks! Im gonna go on babycenter right now and read about it. Its so sad when they cry like that isnt it?!!
