BTDT Moms please tell me this is a phase...

DD is 10 1/2 months and WAS sleeping through the night great...this past week and a half she has been waking up like clock work between 1:30 - 3:00 a.m. She is crying and whining, normally I would let her cry it out a bit but there is a new tenant downstairs and I feel awful letting her scream and waking him. She hasn't done night feedings since she was 3 months but the past few nights I've given her a bottle anywhere from 4 - 8oz and she downs them. After that we rock for a bit and she will go back to bed, usually sometimes it takes 2 times of me going back in there to get her down. I can't for the life of me figure out of she is teething or if it's a growth spurt. What I do know is that I don't want her to start to think that waking up in the middle of the night equals getting a bottle. Is anyone going through this, gone through this or have any words of advise?! I'm losing it!

Hi this happened w/ my DS a few months ago around 9-11 months. I believe it was either a growth spurt or teething. I did NOT give him a bottle though as I didn't want to start a habit. I would just pick him up & rock him for 2 minutes & put him back down & he'd go back off. Then around his first birthday he went back to STTN.

OMG I don't know if I can do this for another 2 1/2 months lol. I am going to stop giving her the bottle now. I just thought if it was a growth spurt you were supposed to give them a bottle, I honestly don't know where I read this...but now I think she knows she will get one.

This sounds EXACTLY like DS at that exact age. 10.5 months he was getting up every couple of hours. It was so bad. DH and I were on lack of sleep. Then he wouldn't even go down in his bed at night so we started rocking him to sleep. He'd get up and cry. Went on for about 3 - 4 weeks. It was bad!
BTW... b4 that was was STTN since 4.5 months
Took him to the Ped and it was teething. It was his top teeth coming in and they were a nightmare. She said he was training us. I cry and they run in. Plus, the falling asleep in our arms was bad too. It's like falling asleep in your bed and waking in your den. He's got to fall asleep where he's going to wake up
So, once those top teeth poked through I said THAT'S IT... he's got to CIO
Meagan (on this board) suggested the Sleep Sound Spa. It plays music and projects stars and the moon on the ceiling. Since DS was standing in the crib we took out the mobile.
First night CIO for almost an hour with the Sound Spa. He stopped every once in a while to look at the show on the ceiling. 2nd night 20 mins. Been great since (knock on wood)
He is 13 months now and I still use the Sounds Machine. He goes in great. Watches the ceiling, plays a little and usually sleeping about 10 mins later.

DS was doing this for awhile, and grew out of it. I did give him a bottle, because it was the only way he would go back to sleep. He would finish the entire bottle, but after awhile he grew out of it. Sending you some hugs because it was exhausting.
