BTDT Moms...can you please tell me why my son does this..

For the last week or so, everytime Seamus is in the crib, for the night or for a nap, if he poops, he puts his hand in his diaper and gets poops all over his hands. He then spreads it on his legs and/or face.

The other day while he was at my parents, he was standing playing with his cars and he stuck his hand in and wiped it on his face! My mom caught him before he could do anymore damage

Anyway I can stop this?
Does he not like being dirty? He is 23 months old. DH and I were going to try to start potty training him after we come back from vacation at the end of July.

ugh, miki went through this phase where she would go into her diaper at the sitters house and smear it on the pnp netting, throw it out of the pack and play and even one time, she ate it

she stopped after a while but it is QUITE nasty

I wish I could help or offer advice as to why DS does this. I would give your ped a call. I think potty training would be a good way to start. Also, I would put him in a onesie under his clothes/pjs when it's nap/bedtime.
