BTDT Mom's I need help dropping a bottle
I need to adjust DD's feeding schedule. She is drinking too much milk!
This is what a normal feeding day looks like now:
Wake 6:00 Breakfast 6:45 or 7 Bottle 7:30 or 8 Snack 10 Bottle 11:30 Lunch either 12 or 2 depending on if she falls asleep before I am able to give her lunch Snack 2:30 Bottle 3:30 Dinner 6 Bottle 7
Should I first try to reduce the oz? She is getting a 6 oz bottle during the day and an 8 oz. bottle before bed. She sucks them down and sometimes cries for more (but I don't give her more). So she is drinking 26 oz. I think that is too much for a 12 month old.
Please help me adjust this before I go back to work next week!!
Thanks!!!

I would cut out the 11:30 bottle personally and feed her lunch at that time.

When would you give the next bottle then?

How much milk did you ped say to give her daily?
My ped said 16 oz a day in milk. She has an 8oz in the AM and before bed. I replaced the other bottles with juice and/or water.

we go today and I know he is going to tell me it is too much! The only thing is she is ok about table food but doesn't seem to really like it all that much. A lot gets chewed and then spit out so I feel like she still needs the calories. And she is sleeping 11 hours at night and I am so afraid she will wake up hungry

Show him the schedule and ask what he thinks.
She's sleeping really well.
DD wakes up hungry and I give her a sippy cup of water until I can get her bottle together.

I think she'll be fine if you drop one of the midday ones. Keep the one at night before bed.
What did your ped say?

Re: BTDT Mom's I need help dropping a bottle
Ill be curious to the answer to this one. I have a DS who will be 1 this week. I have been successful in reducing him down to 2 bottles a day (first thing am and pm) but he is getting milk in a sippy with breakfast and lunch. He is drinking about 20 + oz still. is that to much?

Re: BTDT Mom's I need help dropping a bottle
So my dr. is super flexible. He said 16-24 oz is normal, so she is drinking 26 or so, so she is on the higher end of the spectrum but he was fine with 4 bottles. He basically said do whatever works for your baby and you. He said it is also trial and error, I could try reducing oz. per bottle or try eliminating a bottle.
So not really all that much help, but he wasn't concerned so I guess I am not going to stress to much (or at least I will try )
