Re: BTDT moms -- c-section
I had a vaginal for my first and ecs for my second. Both had pros and cons for me and in a lot of ways my recovery was easier with the cs. The surgery itself was nothing. The spinal was not bad at all and I don't even remember the pulling or tugging at all although I'm sure there was some. The only bad part was right when they brought the baby over I got super nauseous. They'd warned me of that but it hit at the worst time bc dd had to go to the nicu so I knew I'd only see her for a minute. I was in recovery for a very short time and napped a bit while dh saw the baby in the nicu. Once I got to my room I pumped, rested again a little, and then got up to go see the baby. She was born at 130am and I was up to get in a wheelchair by 5am to go see her even though I was still somewhat numb lol. I walked as soon as I could, got up to shower every day, walked back and forth to the nicu all day. By the time I was discharged at 5 days pp I was speed walking! They took my stitches out then which didn't end up going well so that slowed me down a lot but in general I felt great and wouldn't be upset if I needed another cs in the future.
