BTDT- c-section recovery time?
How long did it take for you to feel somewhat recovered after your c-section? days, weeks..?

Definitely take the pain meds in the hospital when offered. I tried to be a hero and it wasn't pretty. I was feeling pretty good after a week or two. I had some pain when  for a few months but it got easier as time went on.

The next day! I had an amazing C-section. As soon as they took out my catheter I was up moving around. Also if they do not put you on a liquid only diet for 24 hrs do it anyway. Helps with all the gas.
I never took anything for the pain when I was in the hospital and when I got home I took Motrin once.

Truthfully I know not everyone is like this but I was pretty much fine the day I left the hospital which was 4 days out. I ony took motrin for pain the first 2 days. I got up a walked as soon as they said I could and I think that really helped. The worst part is moving up and down in the bed. By a week after I felt great.

I was up walking around later that night (my initial recovery from the drug was awful) I took Motrin twice and they released me after 3 days. I also tricked the food delivery guy into giving me dinner

By 1 week I was almost as good as new. By 2 weeks I felt great!
ETA - If you're in pain take the meds they give you. It will make the recovery easier.

By the time I left the hospital I was done with the pain pils but when offered take them I forgot to ask on day 3 (nurse said day 3 is the worst recovery day) and I did not have a pain pill for over 12 hrs and and it was not good ~ I just felt a tight feeling after I left the hospital (and because I never had stiches/staples before I was paranoid that I would pop one)

I felt ok by 2 weeks pp. I think my long failed induction/long period of pushing made my recovery a bit worse though.

This...trying to maneuver around in the bed really is the worst!

I was ok leaving the hospital after 4 days, even though I still had some pain near my incision. I never took anything more than motrin.
By 10 days out, I was walking 2 miles with the baby in a stroller. At my 2 weeks pp check up, I was fine.

ITA on all counts. Wednesday will be two weeks and I feel a little better every day. I still have pains when I move around too much but my whole labor was a long and difficult process and I think the pushing caused me to have other extra pains that I would not have had if I went for a straight csection.

I think everyone is different. I had a horrible recovery compared to some previous posts. Pain meds did not help much was crying at night in the hospital for more. When I got home I could not get comfy. I had horrible problems going to the bathroom and gas  the gas pain would get into my back and travel up my spine it was the worst pain ever! if you end up with one I suggest a few things that I learned after the fact. Walk around as soon as you can and as much as you can. Drink lots and lots of water!! eat healthy foods, take gas medication and stool softners (they give them in the hospital)  never want to scare anyone but its my truth

I agree with this. I wish I had little or no pain like some of the previous posters. I too had a lot of pain after my c section to the point that 2 percocets weren't helping and I could hardly walk. But that was just me. What I can recommend is walk as soon as possible it will help in the healing process.

I had a scheduled csection w/DD and by week one, I felt really good, but still sore if I did too much. By week two, I felt about 95%. I had a great experience, I hope the same goes this time around! Good luck to you!

I had a pain pump while in the hospital that I basically only used after I had gotten up or moved around. After I was off that I was given percocet for the pain, but I only took that a few times. When I got home I only took 2 of the pain pills b/c I could deal with the pain. I was feeling pretty good after a week and really good after 2 weeks.

I could walk pretty well by the time I left the hospital. I still took some pain relievers over the next day or two. Once I was home, there were times over the next week or two that I was uncomfortable, but I could still take care of DS. It took a while until I felt completely back to normal.
