BRU Question...
So... I am a little annoyed!!! My DH had a shower at work and was given a gift that was still "available" on the registry. UPS just brought me the Britax carseat which is also still "available". Has this happened to anybody else? I just feel bad because I would feel bad at the shower (which is in 2 weeks) if someone gave the same present as me.

I'm still far off from having my shower, but I've heard that this is fairly common with BRU.... they're pretty bad about updating the registry sometimes....

it happens sometimes no matter where you go. sometimes people forget to tell them at the register that the gifts are off a registry. every time i've bought something at BRU they have always asked me when at the register if anything is off a registry. but like I said no matter where you go its going to happen. I know for me it did even with our wedding registries.

Why don't you just mark them as purchased on your registry now. At least it will minimize the chances that someone else buys it too. Just put a 1 in the purchased column and click on update for the items. We did this when MIL bought our swing through amazon.com.

I agree. Sometimes people forget to tell them that you are buying off a registry. Other times, the registry doesn't update fast enough. I ended up with 2 highchairs at my shower. Both of the guests, and I, felt bad about it.

yes- they have a problem with on line purchases not being applied to the registry. I got several duplicates.

i found out last weekend that my MIL bought me my pack n play, seeing that it was available on the registry. my mother sent me that pack n play in december! i am so annoyed and feel badly because my shower is tomorrow and MIL didn't have a lot of time to return it to get something else.

Yes - I got 2 high chairs and 2 pack and plays at my shower - one of which still said "still available" on the registry - even after 2 were purchased! Both sets of People who gave them to me told me that they had told the cashier it was off my registry - so it was clearly the store's fault. However, I did get the gift reciept for each one and I know that I'll be able to use the store credit. It suks - but unfortunately -nothing we can do about it - unless you boycot BRU and go to BBB - but that wasn't an option for me - since my family is based in suffolk.

That stinks! I guess it is bound to happen occasionally no matter what store you register with. I would just pull them from the registry if I receive them and see that they are still "available."

I updated it on the registry, just annoyed because the carseat I got today said on the box that it was off of our registry!!! Just wondering how many other things this happened with.

Yes it does happen but I don't know if BRU is totally at fault for it. It could be a matter of the registry not updating fast enough or someone not saying they purchased it off the registry. It could also be if someone purchases it online but they don't do it through your registry. BRU is not perfect but I will say that they are very good about returns especially with things on your registry.
