Brown CM before AF? Anyone? UPDATE
Update:
17dpo, still no AF. I took a CBE digital late Monday afternoon which gave a positive result (that was after I had a negative result with a Dollar Tree test in the morning). Because I got a BFP on the digital I went for a beta yesterday. It was negative, hcg was only 4. My doctor has no idea what is going on. I took a First Response Digital last night and it was negative. I looked up CBE digital reviews and saw on Amazon.com that there are negative reviews for false positives! Apparently CBE is not a reliable test :( I found a lot of complaints.
I still have occasional beige/tan spotting, this has been going on for 5 days now. I have cramps on and off :( some are pretty painful. I've had burning in my side/groin on and off also, the side I think I ovulated from.
I got a positive opk on 4/2 and had progesterone tested on 4/9. Progesterone was 21.3 so it appears that I ovulated. If I ovulated where is AF?
My Doctor said it could be a late period, a chemical/early miscarriage or I'm pregnant and my hcg is abnormally low. This is before I realized that CBE seems to have a high false positive rate. I'm going to call the Doctor and let her know that the test I got the BFP on was probably inaccurate.
I'm really worried. I've never had anything like this happen before. My periods have been perfect even after the d&c until this.
I don't know what is going on. I am so upset over this. I doubt that the beta and the hpts are wrong. If I'm not pregnant where is AF? Is there something wrong with me?

I never spot before AF.
The only time I noticed light brown spotting was right after I got my first BFP.
I've been noticing light brown streaked cm since Friday night. It's only when I wipe and it doesn't happen every time. It's enough for me to notice though.
I think AF is late. I'm about 15 dpo (but could be 13-14dpo). No BFP yet.
Can this be "normal"? I thought pink spotting would be what you'd see pre AF. This is more like a tan/light brown discharge.
I'm noticing some other things that are very similair to the last time I was pregnant and I'm scared. The type of cramping I had, the burning on the side I ovulated from and the spotting is very similair to what I remember. The only thing different is no BFP. I used Dollar Tree tests?
This is really reminding me of my last pregnancy which did not end well.   so I'm almost hoping AF shows.

Just because you got the same initial symptoms doesn't mean it will end the same. Try to relax and see what happens (I know it's easier said than done). Praying for you and good news!!!

Maybe you should wait till tomorrow ad test again. maybe get a digital or another test beside the dollar tree one. Stay positive and calm.

I know that late implantation is more likely to end in miscarriage so I'm scared that if I get a BFP this late it's a bad sign.
I took the Dollar Tree tests out of the garbage and they both have super faint evaporation lines. The lines are barely there, I may even be imagining them! I'm sure that they don't mean anything since it took hours for them to show and after a few minutes they say results are not accurate.
I'm going to test again tomorrow with either a First Respone or Digital if AF is still MIA.
I just hope whether it's AF or a BFP I know soon.
A few days ago I swore I was out and getting AF and now I'm wondering.

Yes. If you google late implantation and miscarriage medical studies should come up giving the percentages.

Just because you ovulate late in your cycle doesn't mean you'd implant late. It goes by DPO not cycle day.
I ovulate early in my cycle. I started noticing the brown cm at 12dpo but I got BFN even up until today. If it turns into a BFP in a few days than I'm worried I implanted late, maybe starting around 12dpo when I noticed the spotting?
I don't know. I never spot so this is weird.

late O has nothing to do with late implant. a late implanter would be POST 10 or 11DPO. so it doesnt matter when you O, just when how many days into your LP that you implant.
and i also wouldnt always assume a late implanter is a bad thing. to be honest, none of us know enough to call anything a "late implanter." what many of us define as a late implanter that turns into a m/c is probably just a chemical pregnancy where for one reason or another the embryo COULDN'T implant fully. that doesnt mean it implanted late, it just means that it couldn't actually implant correctly which could be caused by anything from blood clotting to immune intolerance to chromosomal issue with the embryo.
also like PP said, you cant assume because one preg started one way and ended poorly, that another one that starts similarly will equally end poorly. every pregnancy is different.
finally to answer your question - i used to get brown spotting prior to AF all the time. but based on your tests def POAS again tomorrow. good luck!!

I think the only people who would know they didn't implant "late" are those who know for sure when they ovulated and then got an early BFP at 8-10 dpo. I think for the rest of us there is no way to tell.
I don't think a late BFP necessarily means that it was a late implanter. I know a lot of women don't get their BFP until after AF is due and they go on to have healthy pregnancies. But I do think that an early BFP (based on accurate dpo) = an early implanter and from what the studies show that pregnancy has a better chance based on the statistics. But you are 100% right, for most of us there is no way to know when we implanted.
I just know what I read from the studies and it scared me. I know not everything you read on the internet is true but it looks like the theory was tested a few times.
Like we don't have enough to worry about :(

Crashing just to add that what you're seeing could also be implantation bleeding. I had that, they way you described it is the exact same thing that I had and when I tested with a digital the same day I was seeing the spotting (which again wasn't even spotting so much as tinged cm when I wiped) I got a BFP!
I had a perfect pregnancy and my DD is now 6 months old.
I would test again with a digital or something other than a dollar tree.

im sorry to hear. but it def sounds like a chemical pregnancy. i really doubt its a false positive.
also as the PP said if you are on progesterone it would def delay AF. when i had a chemical on progest i twice had bright red spotting and never got AF for real. my beta was 5. after going off progesterone i got AF 2 days later.

I wasn't on it this month because my progesterone was above 20 when I was tested. It can delay your period but I'm not on it.

Flower, how long does it usually take to start bleeding/AF if it's a chemical? Would it be right away? If the BFP was real than it was gone within 24 hours.
Even my Dr. is  I am repeating the beta tomorrow. She said maybe I O'd late and my DPO are totally off and I might get pregnant this cycle. I could have had a chemical. My cycle could have gone haywire, but why? That is what is very strange. I thought AF could only be delayed by ovulation and the luteal phase is always the same give or take.

if you arent on anything and it is a chemical it should be pretty soon. sometimes you have to wait for the beta to be 0 but technically most doctors consider anything under 5 not pregnant so it really should happen soon especially since you had spotting.
are you seeing an RE or an OB? many OBs dont really "believe" in chemical pregnancies  . you could def be off about your dates and be that early - weirder things have happened. good luck!!!!!!!
