ANyone out there a bridesmaid aside from me...GOD HELP ME.
Okay I agreed to be in this wedding and yes I am still happy to do it BUT...the bride is driving me NUTS!
When she found out I was preggo she said WE HAVE TO MAKE SURE WE CALL BRIDAL PLACE. I was like for what? she says TO GET YOU FIITED. I dont think she understand that right now I am 5 weeks and in july I will be 5 months. She keeps saying "Try it". AND She also said "well they can at least do the bottom. Does that make any sense? My belly will probably bring up the dress. I keep saying NO. and she keeps emailing me times to go.

Re: Bridesmaid...UGHHH

I know everyone is different... but I was barely even showing at 5 months...
Here is me @ 16, and 22 weeks...

Put a dress over me, and some tummy tuck stockings and you'd never even know I was preggo...

Dont let her bother you!

I'm a bridesmaid - but I haven't told the bride yet and I'm not planning on it right now. I'll call the bridal store and tell them and let them advise me when/how to do the fittings. She doesn't need to worry about it.

Good luck!!!Chat Icon

I will be a MOH at my SIL wedding the end of July. I will be 6+ months pregnant (and although I am only 3 months now - I am already huge). Our dresses were already ordered so when I called the bridal shop to ask what I should do they made me order extra material.

You guys should both go to the place and explain the deal to the people there - who I'm sure deal with this kind of thing all the time - and see what they suggest you do. I really doubt they are going to measure you now for a wedding that is 4-5 months down the road.

Re: Bridesmaid...UGHHH

I just went through this for my SIL's wedding on 3/18, I was 8 months pg for it, but for you at 5 months, you should be ok. I wasn't showing that much at 5 months. I would still call the bridal place yourself and tell them what the deal is, so they can order you more material in advance.

My dress didn't fit, they had to let out all the seams, remove boning, and bring the a line up to accomodate my tummy. It looked just fine, i was uncomfortable and hot, but i changed after my speech into a very comfy dress.

The bride doesn't need to know all this, i kept my SIL out of everything, i didn't want her to stress about my dress not fitting.

Good Luck!

Re: Bridesmaid...UGHHH

I am also in my best friends wedding this June and got measured at 5-6 months. I also wasnt showing too much. You probabaly will need a size bigger depending on your body type. But always get bigger than smaller because it is easier to take the dress in eventually.

Re: Bridesmaid...UGHHH

my friend was 4 months preggo for my wedding. she needed a lot of work done to her dress, but the seamstress was able to make it look great! from the front, you couldn't even tell she was preggo.

I suggest going whevever the other girls go for theirs, get a dress that is a little big (if they let you) and order some extra fabric. If you don't need it, you can make a nice shall or something out of it.

Re: Bridesmaid...UGHHH

I'm going to be about 6 months for my friend's wedding and I ordered a maternity dress. The other BM dresses are satin and skin tight, and even if I'm not that big yet, I knew that was just not going to be comfortable. My friend had no issue with me ordering a different dress. I ordered from the same company and the same color and picked the maternity dress that was closest in style to the BM dresses, the only difference will be that my dress is chiffon.

Re: Bridesmaid...UGHHH

awwww..just remember how stressful it is when your getting married and its the biggest day of HER LIFE and shes probably not really thinking about you at all, as rough and mean as it sounds, its true.

Brides are stressed, we all remember that.

I think you should just GO...let the bridal shop ( the experts) explain it all to her. They have doen this before...and if it saves her ( and you) a little stress to take an hour to go and get fitted, it may be for the best.
