bridesmaid dresses
My best friend from college just recently set a wedding date...for Feb! I'm the only one in the bridal party. Any recommendations for where I can get a dress fast that's relatively cheap? TIA!

Re: bridesmaid dresses
I would check out Estelle's. They have so much and it is hit or miss but worth a try. Also, I know Davids Bridal gets their dresses in rather quickly too.

Re: bridesmaid dresses
Has she told you what she wants? If you can since you are the only one, I'd get a dress that isn't necessarily bridesmaid.
Then you can shop anywhere, and look for sales.

Re: bridesmaid dresses
If you are the only one, I woudl try regular dress stores: Macy's L&T, Nordstrom etc.
They have very nice dress selections that you can have right away and for a much better price!

Re: bridesmaid dresses
Also check with RK Bridal - they gave my BMs the best price on their Jim Hjelm dresses from all the places we looked at and called.
They also have a very large inventory of dresses to try on - definitely NOT a place to go and get the most specialized one-on-one service, but for pricing, its great.

i TOTALLY agree with this!! if you're the only one in the bridal party, you could probably get away with picking something off the rack at a "non-bridesmaids" dress store. macys, lord and taylor have great dresses and you can even take advantage of sales and coupons! i would definitely ask her how she feels about that...

I only had my sister, she found her dress in Macy's - it was beautiful on sale, and she has been able to wear it again

ann taylor or jcrew
I had my BMs wear Ann Taylor dresses. They liked them a lot. They bought that season's dresses, but the Ann Taylor in Roosevelt Field had a ton of the previous season's dresses for like $75.

Re: bridesmaid dresses
being the only one, i'd go look at what j. crew, nordstrom, lord and taylor, loehman's, etc. i'd want to get something to wear more than just once.
