Bridal sprinkle?

Is there such a thing? I've heard of baby shower "sprinkles" but was wondering if it's ok to do a bridal sprinkle? A good friend of mine is getting married for the 2nd time (for both of them). It's been a very long time since she's been divorced (probably close to 10 years). She and her fiancee now live together in a house he bought after his divorce.

I was thinking about throwing my friend a shower, but one of my other friends said she didn't think it was a good idea - because it's a 2nd wedding etc. (I checked with one family member who said that family will not be doing anything). I want to do something, so I was thinking a sprinkle, but never heard of one for a wedding. There's a group of 8 close friends that I would invite - either do something at my house or a brunch at a restaurant. Is this OK to do? If so, any ideas on what I could do if it's at a restaurant to make it more special than just the group of us getting together - which is something we do fairly regularly?

im in the same boat as your friend and getting married next month. I will not be having a shower or sprinkle. if its just 8 close friend do it! its SO thoughtful of you. Perhaps it could be a cute theme like lingerie? or honeymoon essentials?( bikini, hat, gc to sunglass hut, gc to agent provacateur, etc)

i say do it. she will be so touched Chat Icon

I agree with this. Every marriage should be celebrated and considering this wedding is so long after her divorce, I think it's a wonderful and very thoughtful idea. I agree with doing a theme. I always love the "Stock the Bar" theme. For my 2nd wedding we had a Honeymoon themed shower since we didn't need anything for the house. I loved it and got lots of stuff that we used for the honeymoon.

Bridal sprinkle?

I had a shower for my 2nd wedding. I didn't want another shower but my mother-in-law insisted and I wasn't going to say no. Since I felt weird about it, she made it small and a lingerie shower so it was a different type of shower than my first. I was really appreciative and I don't think anyone minded. BTW, I had 5 years between weddings.

I think it's wonderful that you would like to throw something for her. Like the PP said, every marriage should be celebrated, even second marriages!

We had one for our friend. About 8 of us went to brunch and we each made a different themed basket.

Bridal sprinkle?

My aunt had a surprise one for her second wedding 10+ years ago. It was very small, only the aunts and cousins. Small token gifts were given like champagne flutes, etc. I'd say do it! Your friend will be very appreciative l.

I think that would be very nice of you to do. Even if its something casual at your house, it would be appreciated.

I would do a shower. It's been over 10 years. I am sure they have everything they need but it's still nice to celebrate an engagement or wedding regardless

I had one! It was DH first time getting married and my second, so his side all wanted to do something. Plus first one I had was 12 years apart from my original wedding. Mom wanted to keep it low key, so she had it at the house with catered food. In lieu of a registry, since we combined 2 places, my mom asked people to bring gift cards from a home place. She was so afraid it would be tacky but knew we had no room for stuff since we were going to buy a house soon. Well I will say all of my friends loved it. They said it made it so easy since they could go to CVS to get a GC. I loved it last month when we got our house and I had tons of GC to shop!!

I love the idea, too! Maybe you can do a spa theme... They have the cutest robe and slipper sets with footy loofahs at BBB for a steal! You can even have it at a spa, if it's just the 8 of you.
I also love the idea of theme baskets. We did holiday themed baskets of home decor for my sister's shower and it was a huge hit!
