Breastfeeding pumping moms please share your schedule
Especially if you work and commute.
It's been a while and this time, I'm adding a commute to the mix.

Do you drive? When I had a long commute, I'd pump while driving.

Ugh I just had to stop, at 8 months old after 6 months. My schedule wasn't consistent and some days I would get only 1 pump in. Shortly after adding solids, my supply dropped dramatically and I couldn't get it back up. When it was working for me, I pumped before I nursed him in the morning, and then every 3 hours after, so about 10:30, 1:30, and 4:30, I'd pump again after nursin him at bed before I went to bed. That was the only way I could keep up with his demand - my little man is a hungry baby.

Hands free pumping bra and a car adapter for the pump. A cover too if you're so inclined. I used to do it from LIC to Ronkonkoma. Eventually I'd shut it off because I'd be in so much traffic and it would start to hurt but I left everything hooked up til I got home.

I pump before I leave in the morning and then 2-3 times while at work, so every 3 hours.

When I initially went back to work, I'd pump before DS woke up and then at about 9, 12, and 3. Sometimes I'd pump with a hands free bra in the car when I left work if I had students after school. Pumping in the car however made me nervous so I tried to limit it. By the time DS was eating solids, I was able to skip the 3 pm session since he no longer needed as much milk. For me, the morning pump was crucial as I could easily get 8 ounces, which would cover half his daily intake.

With my older son, I pumped only, no bfing & no supplementing.
My schedule was 5 times a day.
6am, 10am, 2pm, 6pm, 10pm, and sometimes again in the middle of the night if I felt like I had to. I'd pump a long time, usually 25+ min each time to get enough.

When I first went back, I had a similar schedule. Every 3-4 hours round the clock until 12 weeks and then i cut out the middle of the night.

I only have a 4 mile commute so I didn't pump while driving but I know a lot of people that do. I pumped before I left for work (around 8), then 2-3 times at work (10:30, 12:30, and 3:30). Then I just nursed on demand while at home.
