Breast pumps

Are all electric pumps created equal? I borrowed my cousins 3 yrs ago when DD was born, but she is due this month so I'll have to get my own. I feel it makes no sense to rent since it's about $75 a month. Is there really a difference between a $99 and $300 electric pump?

I think most insurance companies are required to cover it now. The loophole is that they may not have to start doing until your contract is up. For example, we have open enrollment for dh's insurance in oct then the changes take place January 1st so I wouldn't qualify for the pump until January. Kwim?

they are not created equal. I had a cheapo and it broke within weeks. I just got an expensive 300 one and i love it. Weeks later it is still working, great support for it, and i can buy extra parts pretty easily. DOnt waste money on a cheap one.

Re: Breast pumps

There is such a a BIG difference!!!! I only use a hospital grade pump. It is the one you would rent from a store or pharmacy. They retail for $1500. I will not consider using the $300 pump. I bought a hospital one on ebay.
Not to say that the $300 are bad, I just found a huge difference in how much I expressed. I also exclusively pump, so it is in use all the time.

What kind do you have? I didn't even consider ebay.
