Breast pump not covered

We have an HSA plan with United Healthcare and I called today to inquire about coverage of a breast pump.

Turns out my plan "made an exception to this" - whatever that means - even though there have been new laws passed - making breast pumps not covered under our plan.

I'm so mad right now

I work for a hospital and the hospital pays for insurance through united health care. That's how they were able to get around the laws.

I used my PIS for only a few weeks and I don't plan to BF future children so if you'd like a gently used one I'm looking to sell.
