Breast Pump and Insurance
So I just got off the phone with my Insurance company and they do cover at a 100% but would have to be because of a medical reason. They will need some proof from the doctor after the baby is born. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Having a baby is a medical reason I would just ask them what they would need from your doc and you should be good!

That's what I thought.. They just said they needed some chart from the doctor. I guess I'll ask next week.

Re: Breast Pump and Insurance
I just wanted to add that my insurance (UHC) was like this and for UHC they truly meant a medical reason you needed to pump, i.e. baby couldn't latch because of cleft palate, tongue tie. OR the baby being in the NICU for an extended period of time (had to be longer than my stay). It obviously doesn't hurt to call your insurance and ask what they mean. You can ask your doctor, but it may not be something he'll be able to do until after the baby is born. Hope this helps.

Re: Breast Pump and Insurance
Go on edgepark.com websie, call the # , tell them u need a BP and they'll take all your info. They will deal with the insurance and your OB . If it's 100% covered they'll send it to u, if not they'll call u and tell u how much it is andu can make a decision if u want it or not. Mine took about a week or so. They covered 100% .
