Breast pump and insurance
Does anyone know of any other companies that will bill your insurance for a pump other than edge park? My primary insurance doesn't cover pumps but my secondary does. However, edge park won't bill to a secondary. My secondary said I could have edge park go through my primary and once they see they won't cover it then they will reimburse me, but edge park won't bill my primary knowing they won't cover it. So I'm looking for another company! Thank you!

I'm sorry, that's the dumbest thing I ever heard. If I were you, I'd raise hell with edgepark until they submitted it. (I like raising hell with insurance companies lol, otherwise i have no good advice)

I did!! I had bcbs (my secondary) talk to them too and tell them they were covering it 100% and they still told me no. It is their policy that they don't bill for denial. They obviously don't need the business bc they told me I should try another company!! It's so ridiculous. All bcbs needs is to see ghi denied the claim!!!!!!!!

I'd send them an official sounding letter and threaten to report them to the state. I'll ask my mom what to do if you want,. She works in the field and can tell you if you have a leg to stand on.

That would be great if you don't mind. I'm going to call ghi and see if they can send me a letter that they don't cover it. I'm not paying $400 for a pump that I can get for free!

Check out apria.(or apria healthcare) I used them because edgepark did not have a contract with my insurance company for breast pumps. Apria was awesome to deal with and they are out of hicksville..

Try any medical supply company. You can google for them. I'm OOS but there are tons of local ones around. They all can get the same reimbursement as Edgepark and I'm sure there will be others that actually would take the time to contact your secondary insurance about it.

she says they SHOULD do it.
or you can get an invoice from edge park and do the claim on your own (first to primary than secondary).
or if you want she can call on your behalf and put the fear of god in them lol, just fm me.

Thank you!! I think I'm going to send it to ghi myself, but first I'm going to look into other companies bc they don't deserve my business at this point! Thanks again!
