Breast Feeding Taboo
I am not sure exactly how bf'ing will go for me but I would like to try to do it for at least the first 3-4months that I am home.
NOt sure if I will continue when I go back to work after that.
Which type of breast pump would you ladies recommend?
Since I dont know if it iwll work or how long I would be doing it for, I was thinking of borrowing my SIL's
Also, do you think its a real no no to borrow one from my SIL? I know that the baby bargains book is VERY anti- but couldnt some of the parts be sterilized/replaced, like the breast shield valve and membrane?

I used the Medela. Yes, there are replacement parts but instead of borrowing, I opted to just buy my own. That is one thing that I don't want used.

Re: Breast Feeding Taboo
You can totally borrow one. Me, my SIL and my sister all shared the same motor and changed out every other part.

You can absolutely share! I got mine from a friend who used it for about a year. You would just use the same machine, but buy your own parts for it.
ETA: I have the Medela Pump in Style Advanced and absolutely love it!

Yes, you can definitely share. BRU sells replacement parts (I wouldn't use used parts even if they've been sterilized).
ETA: I used the Medela Freestyle which is hands-free and portable. I loved it because I wasn't stuck in one place while pumping. An FYI if you didn't know already....call your insurance company and see if they cover the cost of the pump. My insurance company (Blue Cross Blue Shield) paid for the pump as long as I purchased it through a durable medical equipment company. I used Edgepark as per the recommendation on these boards and they were fantastic!

Re: Breast Feeding Taboo
of course you could take hers, just buy your own parts. i have the pump in style, it was my sisters. the replacement parts cost a total of under $50. just be careful to get the exact ones (look in the owners manual for replacement parts serial numbers and go from there). i found all parts at BRU/BBB except the tubing, which I got on amazon.

Re: Breast Feeding Taboo
you probably can, but I couldn't
I wasn't paying attention and I guess I pinched a hose and the BM backed into the motor.
