breast feeding question - sleeping through night

my dd has been doing 5-6 hour stretches some nights. she only takes one breast per feeding. will my body adjust to such along time between feedings or should i pump the one i dont use after that long stretch?

Your body will adjust. I would not pump as this may create an oversupply. If you are uncomfortable, try to express some out.

my body usually adjusted within 1-2 days of a schedule change like this. it was uncomfortable for a night or two where i was more engorged than normal but just manage that with heat compresses or warm showers and massaging. i wouldn't suggest pumping because it sends the wrong message to your body and who the F wants to continue waking up in the middle of the night if the baby is sleeping?? You'll be fine. My DS is going to be 19 months and I'm still nursing him even though I haven't pumped during the day since June.

This. I would feed DS then pump right before bed... He was sleeping a solid 6 hours by about 6-8 weeks.
