Breaking swaddle habit
is so hard! I know I can't keep him in it forever and he basically breaks it by morning but I'm afraid of breaking routine. I HAVE to do this eventually but it sucks hard.

Re: Breaking swaddle habit
I was afraid too, but we went cold turkey and DS was fine. He was 3 months old so idk if that made a difference.

It was tough for us too, but we finally got DS used to sleeping without it

When I look in his room his hands are on his face and then he wakes himself up. I hope this transition isn't a long one.

I just did it cold turkey at 6 months. Took 20 minutes of CIO and that was it. After that first night, everytime I put her in the crib she immediately splays all out flat, spread eagle. She went from one extreme to the other, it was so funny.

Re: Breaking swaddle habit
I just finished night 4. We went cold turkey also. The first two nights were a lot better than i thought. These past two days have been rough but he has been battling a nasty cold. I just dont want to revert back to his old ways since he seemed to be doing so well.

DS 1 was a horrible sleeper but, our ped recommended that we go from swaddle to sleep sack since it still keeps their core warm. He didn't seem to sleep worse while we were doing it so I guess it worked.
