brake light...
my brake light come on the dashboard every time I hit the gas. Is that considered a faulty light or something serious?

Um, your question is not making sense. As far as I know there is no 'brake light' on a car dashboard.

check the manual for the car...
It could mean that your breaks need repair soon - so have them checked out after reading the manual to see what the light is an indicator on...
-or-
it could be something electrical, where the "wire" for the break light indicator is loose...
-or-
it could be an indicator that your break light bulb(s) are going out and need replacement soon

DHs '01 Toyota Corolla has a break light indicator on his dashboard...lets him know the break lightbulbs are going or out.

Ok, I got it. When I think of 'brake light', I think of, well, the actual brake..light. Yeah, the Bimmer has a brake light indicator which only comes on when the brake pads are close to or in need of replacement. It has nothing to do with the bulb though. I guess ur car is fancier than mine!
