Boy did I have a reality check today.
DD is 2 months and I haven't bought new clothes. I've been wearing my maternity pants with bella band and sweats since we don't really go "out" anywhere yet.
Well we are going away next week so I figured I'd buy a new pair of jeans just to hold me over until I lose the weight I need to lose.
Well ... I went up 3 sizes. I want to cry. I gained 40 lbs with pregnancy but lost 28 so far. I was 20 lbs heavier than I would have liked before I was pregnant so I just feel like a big mush.
And- I feel like my c section scar is an automatic roll maker.

Re: Boy did I have a reality check today.
Please remember you are only 2 months pp. I am 9 months and JUST starting to get my body back, which is what alot of people told me, it takes 9 months to make a baby, give your body 9 months to go back.
ETS; I JUST bought new clothes this past weekend, I lived in leggings and sweats for 9 months, in the summer all I wore was dresses!

No matter WHAT the scale says - your body has to revert back to it's original shape - your body took 9 months to accomodate growing a child, and now you need to give your body time to go back.... our hips have widened, our shape has changed, heck - everything is different.... it will go back...!!

Re: Boy did I have a reality check today.
If I remember correctly, my weight dropped pretty quickly (except the last 5 pounds) but it was distributed totally differently so my pants didn't fit for months.
By 10 months, I was back to my normal shape. Everyone told me it took me 9 months for pregnancy and that it takes about the same time to go back.

12 weeks was the magic number for me. It will happen, don't be frustrated just yet!

I remember feeling the same way at 2 months pp. It is too soon. The weight will continue to just come off on its own especially if you are BFing. For me, it took six months.

It takes time, you will get there.
I am only 2 weeks post partum, I am already stressing too. I know it will take some time but it's hard not to feel frumpy when I'm in sweats and maternity clothes. I hope sooner rather than later I will return to pre-pregnancy size.
We will both get there!!

9 months on 9 months off. Even when you lose all the weight things may not fit right. Just remember you will get your body back. It just takes time

Re: Boy did I have a reality check today.
I am 2 mos pp as well. Nothing fits me anymore and I've gone up 4 sizes. My belly looks like I'm in the 1st trimester. Hips are much bigger with love handles hanging out. It's depressing. =( I need to start working out and go on a diet (not bf). Its nice to know other mothers say it takes 9 mos bc i've seen some that go back to pre preg size right after the baby

Re: Boy did I have a reality check today.
I totally understand your frustration. I actually weigh about 10 lbs. less than I did before I conceived either of my children, and NONE of my clothes from that time fit me.
I'm getting back to WW ASAP.
Lots of to you, because I understand how frustrating it is to have a closet full of clothes that you can't wear...even though the scale says you SHOULD be able to.

Re: Boy did I have a reality check today.
I think most of us have felt this way. DS is 5 months old and I haven't even tried to wear non-maternity pants yet! I wear them or sweats. I went back to work rather quickly too and it's been difficult. I keep telling myself that it took 9 months to get this way, so it will take time to get back. I'm starting WW at work so I'm hoping that helps Don't stress too much- we've all been there or in my case, is there
