I think it's a great idea! My 4 and almost 3 year old DS love bowling!
I'm not on LI (anymore) so don't have any recs, but wanted to say that I think it is a great idea!!!

I actually hated bowling parties at that age. I think they are too little, even with the bumpers/ramps and get bored with it.
DC is 6 now and starting to enjoy them.

I did DS' 5th bday party at RVC Lanes and the kids loved it. Only thing was it was 2hrs. After the typical 1.5hrs the natives got restless so I'd maybe try to negotiate a slightly shorter party.

Sounds fun!! We took DD bowling last summer a few months before she turned 4 and she had a blast!! Absolutely loved it!! After two games she begged us to stay and keep playing. I think a bowling party will be great!
