When I lived in Manhattan I NEVER took them back to the store, but now I do! My mom loves to give me hers, too.

The only reason I don't is because there is a disabled man in my community who collects them and brings them back, so we pack them separately and leave them out for him.

We most certainly do!!!! Why not save a dollar or 2???? My dad just made fun of me. DHs friends make fun of him too.

I hope I dont sound like a jerk, but for 2 bucks, I am not wasting gas to drive to the store, and stand there in that stinky room where those machines are .
I do recycle though.

That is exactly what we do as well!! The last time I went I made back $5 not too shabby!! I'd rather not throw away my money and since I have to go to the grocery store anyway-it is totally worth it!

Nope, we always bring them back. It's always nice to go return bottles for 10 minutes and have an extra $15-20 to put towards groceries (which I'll shop for since I'm already there)

I don't anymore- but when I was younger I used to take my parents back- I would return the bottles and then fill up my SUV- at $1.00 a gallon

I lived with my boyfriend and his friend for a few yrs and their friends are big drinkers. Probably every few weeks we'd take all the bottles and cans back and get a free case of beer out of it. Not that bad.
When I cleaned I always threw them out though.

we bring them back too, so i guess we're cheap arses as well!!
seriously, we collect them all until we have a whole sh!tload of them, then return them...
last time it was $12 worth!! not much, but at least it paid for the milk, eggs, bread, and juice!

Once winter came I just kept putting the cans in the basement/laundry room in big black trash bags.....well I have 8 HUGE bags so far last week I took back 3 bags and got back $16
