Booking Newborn Photo Shoot

When should I book a photographer for a newborn photo shoot? I'm due in November. For those of you who did a newborn shoot, how old was your baby at the time? Also, does anyone have any photographer recommendations? TIA!

Book NOW! They book up quick. DS was 11 days old (because he was in NICU for 10 days) but they usually like younger than that!

Go with Summer, she's the best (if you can get her!)

I booked in May for October, I'd book now. I haven't used her yet, but I booked Anne Hack.

I decided on Forever Fireflies because I love her work. I hate when people chop the tops of heads off in pics. I love her creativity. I am happy with everyone elses reviews of her and her work. Her price is amazing.

I just had my newborn session with Avajack and once again i was thrilled with the outcome of the pics. There are some pics in my album if you want to check them out. Anyway I booked her in December for my June shoot. Tyler was 10 days old at the time.

I booked my newborn shoot about 6 months before they were born because I heard they booked up fast. I used Forever Fireflies and Heather was amazing!!!! My twins were about a week old and she came to my house, which was really convenient. Good luck!!

Just crashing for a quick question. When you say good price... what do you feel is a good price? I have no idea what to expect.

Im using my best friend who is a photographer. She does all sorts of photography but takes special interest in newborn/maternity photo shoots

The night I found out my official due date, I booked September Blue. That was in the beginning of January, and I'm due in a few weeks!

I am booked with Forever Fireflies. The baby is usually only about a week old.

She was recommended by a few other ladies on this thread. Her website was being worked on last I checked, but her pics on facebook, and the website (when it comes back up) were gorgeous. Considering the price and the high quality of the photos I've seen so far from Forever Fireflies, we felt we were getting a great value.

I can FM you the price she gave me if you'd like. But if you email her she responds very quickly and was happy to give my any info I requested.
