Blue Point questions............
We are looking at Blue Point almost exclusively. A few questions if anyone can help!!!
Is it true there is no bus service for the schools? And why is this if it is true?
Is there a certain area where flood insurance becomes needed or required? ie....south of Main Street or south of Middle Road or something like that?
Does anyone know Kennedy Avenue? Is really busy......like a through street? And what is on the northwest corner of Kennedy & Main Street? We are going to look at house that I believe is the first house on the left side of the street, so I am curious what the business is there, as I forgot from when we drove around the other day!
Thanks!!

Re: Blue Point questions............
I live in Patchogue, which is the next town over. I don't know about the bus service for the schools. South of Montauk highway would probably need flood insurance.
We have (or used to have, we no longer speak to them) friends who live on Kennedy, probably right next to where you are looking as they are the 2nd house in on the left, and I don't think this is a busy street. They seem to like it there and never complained of this.

Re: Blue Point questions............
my mom works for Bayport-Blue Point Schools. There is bus service, but its very small. Majority of kids don't get bused because they live so close to the school (it goes by mileage).

Re: Blue Point questions............
I live in Blue Point! I am very familiar with Kennedy It's actually not a busy street at all. There is an auto body shop in the middle of the street, but it usually has lots of carsw during the day an they close early.
I LOVE the town. I really love my neighborhood. It's great! And yes from what I know there are no bus services.
As far as the flood insurance, I belive you need it if you are less than 1 mile from the water. We are just over the 1 mile mark. We are north of Montauk Hwy.
Please fm me if you have any questions.

Re: Blue Point questions............
On the corner of Kennedy and Main is a True Value Hardware Store and a new Getty gas station.
ETA...I believe the house you are looking at is behind the Getty station. I saw it online and it looks like a cute house, actually. Very nice den area and a nice yard.
Good Luck!
