Fred had improvement today when they took him off sedation. He responded to commands like open your eyes, squeeze my hand and move your leg. He did them all and looked at us. It shows that he's in there. Bad news is that he has multi organ failure and his liver enzymes are high and he is now on dialysis since his kidneys aren't working. He is breathing somewhat on his own with the ventilator so that's good but I think he would be better off in a bigger and better hospital... sooo.....
We are getting him the heck out of New Island and getting him into St. Francis tomorrow am. According to New Island he wasn't stable enough to move but now apparently he is. Our frustration with New Island is really hurting us.
He will have a much better chance at a bigger facility like St. Francis. I just hope it's not too late. Please pray that we are getting him the best care in time. I guess I'm not going to work tomorrow. I am going to St. Francis.
Glad to hear he is making progress - as little as it may be. Sounds like a hospital transfer could be the saving grace you needed. Good luck and I will be for you and Fred!
I'm just waiting for the doc to sign the transfer. We go over there for visiting at 1pm. No changes today and he's doing dialysis right now. I can't wait for him to get there. I had an awful sleep last night. I'm a mess. thanks for all the prayers. Please keep them coming.
