Block Island In April
I just put a timeshare on hold in Block Island over Spring Break.
4/8-4/15.
We probably won't stay the whole week but thought this could be a fun getaway. I know the weather might be iffy, but I thought we could go hiking, shopping, hang on the beach, eat out.
We have two DDs 5 and 7.
Has anyone stayed on Block Island off season. Any recommendations?

I haven't. But you're gonna freeze. My parents have a house in Montauk and very often in May and June we wear sweatshirts on the beach
Make sure things are open, but it could be nice and relaxing without people there too :)

Yes definitely pack for winter- it will be COLD!
Even May is freezing on the beach around here lately.
Heck some years it's cold in June.
Ah, gotta love the North East and our 2 months of summer! 
And yes, call to find out what's open in terms of restaurants etc....
Some might be seasonal only

Block Island In April
It's going to be freezing, and that seems like a lot of work to get there only to be likely bored in the end. The beach is going to be really cold.

Block Island In April
I've been there off season. Very few places will be open. A very small handful of restaurants, not sure about shops. Also, the Montauk ferry doesn't run off season so you need to take the ferry from Pt. Judith, RI.

We've been to Newport in April.
The weather is not the worst... not winter. We wore light jackets and stayed at a hotel with an indoor pool, so that was fun. It was comfortable to walk around and lots of restaurants were open and pretty crowded. We did a lot of walking with a baby and toddler and played in lots of parks.
If you can, call a few restaurants and see if they will be open. If not, consider staying near a bigger city.
