Re: Birthday party and food

I would serve food at that time...if it was around 7 then maybe u can get away with cake.
2.00 is still lunch time to alot of people.

Re: Birthday party and food

honesly, if i were a guest, i would expect more than a piece of cake. it doesn't have to be a full on meal. some finger foods would be great to munch on..

I would think there would be food there. We just had a small gtg for DS birthday. It started at 3, and I had some munchies and ordered pizza and then had cake.

My dad did call before he came and asked if I was having food though! Chat Icon

I agree, just some finger foods/munchies first and then the cake would be fine. (you could even put out a fruit salad and some cookies along with the cake just to add a bit more variety)Chat Icon

Re: Birthday party and food

I personally would assume that any party, regardless of the time, would have some kind of food- unless the invite specified otherwise like "join us for some sweet treats." It doesn't have to be a full on meal, but definitely things to pick on.

Well then like I said before seeing this, I would probably specify on the invitation that it was playtime and sweet treats. That way the parents know to feed their kids lunch before they come.

Yeah ITA with this. You gotta let the parents know that food won't be served because otherwise they might not feed their kids assuming there will be food at the party.
